Swimming

Pool Sessions

Our main club swim session is held on Monday evenings (19:45-20:45) at Gresham’s School, Holt. We have five lanes of differing abilities, so there will be a suitable group for you. One lane is reserved for those who want to work exclusively on technique, with a dedicated coach.

As this is a coached session, we have a minimum requirement that you are able to swim continuously for 200m.

The session costs just £5 for members.

Location: Gresham’s School, Cromer Road, Holt, NR25 6EA

Directions:
From Cromer Road, Holt, enter via the ‘Sports Entrance’, follow the road and you will find the swimming pool about 250m on your left. The building is number 22 on the map below.

Open Water Swimming

During the warmer months we offer outdoor swimming sessions at the Mike Thurston Centre, North Walsham. This is a great way to experience outdoor swimming in a safe and friendly environment.

Held at a beautiful unspoilt freshwater lake, with smooth water, free of tides and currents, this an ideal environment for those learning to swim in open water or developing their confidence. Regular water testing is performed to confirm the excellent water quality, making it a great place to swim and train. As this is an existing watersports venue, it also benefits from changing facilities with hot showers, and plenty of car parking.

British Triathlon coaches are on hand to give support and advice, with 1-2-1 or small group coaching also provided by arrangement.

The sessions are delivered for TriHarman-Norfolk members and cost £5 per session.  Guests can swim at the session at a cost of £7, which includes day membership of TriHarman-Norfolk.

At the start of the season an Introduction to Open Water Swimming course is usually held over two days. Starting with a pool session, this allows open water swimming techniques to be practiced in a warm safe pool environment, before utilising the lake.

A beginners guide to Open Water swimming can be read here.
